FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT Do Not Use After June 13, 2003 Beverly L. Adams-Gordon, Publicity Chair 509-843-5009 Wylie Gustafson Show Feature at 2003 Tumbleweed Festival Wylie Gustafson of Wylie Gustafson will be the feature entertainment event at Pomeroy's annual Tumbleweed Festival beginning at 7 p.m., on Friday June 13 at the Seeley Opera House in downtown Pomeroy. Wylie's show is musical entertainment suitable for the entire family. According to Tumbleweed Festival organizers this performance will be the most famous act to ever to be featured within the festival's 14 year history. What People Are Saying About Wylie & The Wild West Wylie is the best singing cowboy alive today. Enough said. Claude Flowers, South County Journal One of the consistently fine cowboy singers of his generation. Michael McCall, Country Music Magazine Wylie brings the rich tradition of quality western music to life. I think he's one of the great young singers who will continue to bring that tradition to an audience. I'm really taken by his singing. There is absolutely no break in his voice when he yodels; it's just like silk. Bob Whittaker, GM-Grand Ole Opry Wylie's ability to cut loose sets him apart from country's self conscious male stars. David Zimmerman-USA Today Gustafson is the coolest cowpoke around these parts. Forget everything you hate about modern country, this guy is all old school cool without being a tired period piece. Winda Benedetti-Spokesman Review When Wylie performed his subtle version of "Cattle Call", the cool, mainly young crowd became instant traditionalists. Keith Glass-The Australian Country Music Capital News Obviously Wylie makes phenomenal music but he's not just a good recording artist, he's a great performing artist. From his performances here, he's gained a really solid following. People plan to be here to see him. The best part of his performance is the reactions of people who don't know who he is - they walk by, and he pulls them into the seats. He's a magnet. Not only does he draw a crowd, he keeps them there. Chris Tahti, director of the Minnesota State Fair, " When Wylie and the Wild West play, folks get up and dance! No crowd-- no matter how worried, troubled, or surly-- can resist this lanky cowboy with the big grin. Guitar in hand, Wylie Gustafson's energy is an imposing force. While his chin is bobbing in time to the sprightly western sounds of the Wild West, his boots fly forward and back in a brisk jig. Atop his gangly form is a 50's style, rancher-creased cowboy hat that amazingly stays on for the wild ride. In the midst of all this swaying, dancing, sweating, and strumming, Wylie somehow manages to open his mouth and sing. And Yodel.
