The Tumbleweed Theatre stage will be located at the end of 7th Street and Columbia on Pioneer Day, June 14, 2003. The stage was created as a place to show-off the talents of people living in Pomeroy and the surrounding areas. Any individual, group, choir or band is welcome to perform on the stage during the Tumbleweed Festival Street Fair. Even groups of friends organized just for this event are encouraged to perform. "We're hoping to have entries from individuals, churches, scout troops, schools of all kinds and other community organizations as well as groups of friends getting together just for this event," said Zack Lueck, Pomeroy Civic Theatre's Director. "We also are interested in showcasing acts that have a pioneer theme and encourage performers to wear pioneer style costumes. "While individuals and groups are encouraged to wear Pioneer style costumes." Lueck added, "But it isn't required; regular clothes, choir robes or uniforms are fine too," "Every participant will be awarded a Certificate of Participation as well as receive special Thank-you gifts from area merchants." according to Beverly L. Adams-Gordon, Pomeroy Civic Theatre President. "Each member of a group will receive their own Award Certificate and thank-you gift," Adams-Gordon said.
