City's Historic Commission Approves Historic Register Plaques

At their May, 2007, meeting the Pomeroy Historic Commission met with John Herres of Memories In Stone who made a presentation on plaques that would signify buildings listed on the Pomeroy Historic Register. Here, Herres and Beverly Adams-Gordon are holding up a sample plaque on the outside of Adams-Gordon's building.

The finished plaques are laser etched on absolute black polished granite. They were designed by Adams-Gordon and Herres, based on an idea by Mrs. Adams-Gordon. The initial plaque was purchased by Adams-Gordon and her husband to mark their historic hotel in downtown Pomeroy. Herres later took the idea to the City's Historic Commission, where he won approval for the additional plaques.
