Good Things to Eat, originally published at Pomeroy, Washington, in 1909 by the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Pomeroy, has been reprinted for the Pomeroy Historic Preservation Committee by Castlemoyle Books. The Historic Preservation Committee, formed in May of 2002, was instrumental in Downtown Pomeroy’s nomination and placement as a Historic District on the National Register, maintained by the National Park Service (U.S. Department of the Interior) and the creation of the Pomeroy Historic Preservation Commission by the City of Pomeroy. Proceeds from sales of the cookbook are used for various activities which promote historic preservation and to educate the community regarding issues of preservation.

Good Things To Eat includes over 90 pages of recipes and advertisements from the Pomeroy of 1907. The Historical Committee has added a 16-page section with an index of the women and their recipes and short histories of many Pomeroy landmarks.

Relive Pomeroy's cooking past with Martha (Pomeroy) St. George's recipe for Marshmallows, Mary's VanAusdle's Hickorynut Cake, Mrs. George Elsensohn's Tit Tat Toe Cake, and over 300 more recipes.
