Louisa "Louise" C. Waldher

Louisa C. (Louise) Waldher, 93, of Pomeroy died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, of causes related to age and kidney failure at Garfield County Long-Term Care Facility in Pomeroy.

She was born at the family farm about two miles south of Pomeroy Dec. 11, 1911. Her parents were Peter and Mary Pierre Waldher. Louisa lived in Garfield County until 1916 when the family moved to Uniontown. They resided there until 1945 when the family returned to Pomeroy to make their residence.

Louisa attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Uniontown and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Uniontown and Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pomeroy. Louise never married and lived with her parents until their deaths.

Louise also resided at Neva's Shelter Home in Lewiston, Tender Care Adult Home in Clarkston and Garfield County Long-Term Care Facility in Pomeroy.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Edward and Reinhard Waldher; and five sisters, Margaret Mosman, Theresa Waldher, Marian Eastman, Dorothy Waldher and Anita Vallandingham.

Louise is survived by a brother, Francis and his wife, Betty Purcell Waldher; a sister, Agnes Waldher Herres; a sister-in-law, Eva Baden Waldher, all of Pomeroy; and a sister, Florence Waldher Kraemer and her husband, Phil, of Richland. Many nieces and nephews also survive her.

The vigil service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Pomeroy. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The Revs. Father Robert Turner and Father John Sand will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund at 634 High St., Pomeroy, WA 99347, Garfield County Museum in care of Muriel Bott of Pomeroy, or a charity of your choice.

Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jean (Stallcop) Ruark

Betty J. Ruark, 84, a longtime Pomeroy resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston. Betty was born June 8, 1920, in Pomeroy. Richardson-Brown Funeral Home in Pomeroy is assisting the family with arrangements.
