Larry Lueck (1934-1995)

A longtime Pomeroy resident, Larry Lueck died of congestive heart failure at Garfield County Memorial Hospital on Nov 30, 1995. He was born May 1, 1934, in Davenport to Harvey and Wilma Brink Lueck. He completed his schooling at Davenport and the family moved to Pomeroy in 1949.

Mr. Lueck worked in various logging industries in the Pacific Northwest and married Lillian Ferrell at Lewiston on May 16, 1950. He then went to work for OK Rubber Welders at Pomeroy. He also worked as a mechanic, school bus driver and truck driver. Mr. Lueck later owned and operated the Kozy Korner Café and Texaco Service Station at Pomeroy.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lillian, at the Pomeroy home; his father and step-mother, Harvey and Betty Lueck of Uniontown; four sons, Doug and Zack Lueck of Pomeroy, Steve Lueck of Walla Walla, and Major Michael Lueck, a pilot in the US Marine Corps stationed at Quantico, VA; his sisters, Sandra Holderbaum of Lewiston and Ada Neible of Pomeroy; a brother, Dwaine Lueck of Bullhead City, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Lueck in 1987.

A memorial service was held at First Christian Church in Pomeroy with the Rev Rick Bender officiating.
